What is Accelerated Distance Learning?
Accelerated Distance Learning is a merging of two established ideas, accelerated learning skills and distance learning, which allows students to earn their degree in significantly less time, for less money, without ever setting foot in a college classroom. Back to the top

What are Accelerated Learning Skills?
Memory, writing, and speed-reading techniques are the Accelerated Learning methods students use to complete their degree program in a quarter of the time it would take at a traditional college. By taking a small amount of time before college to develop these study skills, students can significantly increase the efficiency of their study time and move on to earning a degree through credit by examination and distance-learning course work. How do employers look at a distance learning degree?
David Briggs, a senior executive for an insurance company in Worcester, Massachusetts, had this to say about a distance learning degree. Back to the top

"A college degree certainly carries with it a certain worth, and many positions within organizations require a degree as a pre-requisite for employment. The source of the degree is of less concern to me than the actual experience gained through course related jobs, which is of far greater worth. Character and integrity have become clear benchmarks as I evaluate a potential job candidate, and oftentimes those traits are measured by the varying levels of discipline and effort shown while 'in school' to gain work experience while at the same time getting the sheepskin. Accelerated distance learning requires that a student have exceptional levels of discipline as well as the ability to 'think outside of the box.' I would rather have an ADL student with work apprenticeship experience, and with integrity, than a major university graduate who hasn't seen the outside of a classroom throughout the college years. Stay focused on the task at hand...don't just pass the tests, learn the information while you pass the tests, and be able to apply that information in real world work situations."

Mr. Briggs is also a former business owner, pastor, and senior executive in organizations, both large and small, each of which required the hiring and firing of many different levels of employees. He also has experience as a sales and compensation consultant helping other companies hire and train effectively. Back to the top

What are the advantages of Distance Learning?
Accelerated Distance Learning speeds up the learning process, enabling students to receive their degree in a fraction of the time it would traditionally take. ADL students get a jumpstart on their careers and ministries and avoid wasting 4 to 6 years not to mention exorbitant amounts of money in the traditional educational system. Because students are studying from home, Accelerated Distance Learning allows a Christian student to remain in an environment conducive to spiritual growth during the critical college years when many are still forming their worldview and convictions. How long has Distance Learning been around and why haven't I heard of it before now?
Distance Learning has been available in various forms for hundreds of years but recently the internet has made distance learning an attractive option on a broader scale. Today, because of its effectiveness and convenience, Accelerated Distance Learning is becoming the preference of more and more college students world-wide. Back to the top

Is Accelerated Distance Learning only for exceptional students?
Although ADL requires a student to be self-motivated, one does not have to be super-smart to succeed. Like many other things in life, self-discipline and a desire to learn are the primary ingredients to Distance Learning success. Back to the top

Will Distance Learning credits transfer to other colleges?
Anytime a student attempts to transfer from a community college or university to another institution, there is the possibility that credits won't transfer. The same rule applies to distance learning. The key to avoiding credit loss during transfer is careful research and planning. Whether you are a distance learner or attending a college on campus, it is vitally important to have a plan and a strategy before you begin! Back to the top

Can I earn a degree in any area of study?
Literally hundreds of degrees can be earned through distance learning, while thousands more can be achieved with a combination of Distance and on campus instruction. Back to the top

How quickly can I get my Bachelor's degree?
Utilizing the accelerated learning methods, it is not uncommon for students to earn a fully accredited undergraduate degree in one year's time or less. It just depends on how much time you are able to invest per day. Back to the top

Can I use credits I've already earned?
Generally, if the credits come from an accredited school and fit within your degree plan, they will be accepted at a distance learning school. Back to the top

Who will grant my degree?
Just as in a traditional college, students receive their degree from the college in which they choose to enroll. Currently, over 1,000 colleges and universities are offering degrees through Distance Learning. Back to the top

Are the degrees accredited?
Whether the degree is accredited depends on the school. Distance learning colleges offer degrees in varying levels of accreditation just as traditional schools. At Global Learning Strategies, we primarily work with schools that are Regionally Accredited through the same agencies that accredit traditional state universities and colleges. Back to the top

Can I earn a Graduate degree through distance Learning?
Yes, several graduate degrees are available through distance learning at costs beginning at $4,000. Back to the top

How many colleges offer distance-learning courses?
Over one thousand colleges nationwide offer distance-learning programs for students. One helpful resource for identifying the school that is right for you is Peterson's Guide to Distance Learning. Back to the top

What is the catch?
No catch. ADL is a way in which a student can earn a fully-accredited degree in a short amount of time for a small amount of money. This is for real, and it is catching on in a big way. Back to the top
