"Brad Voeller opened the door to alternative college methods with his book, Accelerated
Distance Learning, but many students have found it overwhelming to
perform the additional research and logistical details necessary to make their
degree
from home a reality. Now the research is done for you!
Students and families are assigned a Godly personal coach to guide them in
making a plan,
choosing a college, knowing what courses and exams to take, recommending study
material, developing leadership skills, and keeping them accountable as they
pursue their degree from home. |

"Global Learning Strategies has changed how we do higher education in America.
This is bad news for radical professors and warped social engineers, but good
news for families." |

"Many homeschool families are facing decisions about college, and may have
questions like, "Where will my teenager attend?", "How will we
pay for it?", "How will my child deal with the negative influences
at college?" As a father of teens, these are issues I've had to address
myself, so I write to you today to recommend an outstanding seminar, which
addresses these topics."
"If you have high school students preparing
for college, you might want to learn how to save thousands
of dollars in college tuition. Perhaps you would like to shorten
the path to a Bachelor's degree by two or more years, or assist
your children in completing a degree from home. As I travel
around the country teaching writing, I come across many interesting
and helpful ministries, but one of the most helpful I've found
is that of Global Learning Strategies. Their book, Accelerated
Distance Learning by Brad Voeller, is a useful and
informative resource on the topics of college education methods
and college-level learning techniques. I sell it, and recommend
it to parents of college-age students everywhere I go." |

David
and Laurie Callihan, Home school leaders
We met Brad Voeller, the author of the new
book Accelerated Distance Learning at the New
Jersey state home-schooling convention in 2001. We are really
excited about this book, because it gives practical strategies
for completing college work in an unconventional way, saving
time, money, and the agony of enduring unbiblical world views
and the negative social experiences of most colleges. We would
suggest that parents of children in junior and above get a
copy of this book now. It will broaden the possibilities of
your secondary home school years and beyond. |

Cathy Duffy,

Brad Voeller takes two hot ideasgetting
through college quickly and paying a fraction of the typical
cost of collegethen puts them together in Accelerated
Distance Learning. Home schoolers have figured out
that distance learning makes sense through books such as Bears'
Guide to Earning Degrees by Distance Learning. Theyve
also figured out that students can start on college at younger
ages, sometimes graduating from college about the same time
age-mates are graduating from high school. To these strategies,
Voeller has added the element of acceleration.
Whenever students begin earning college credits, it is possible to speed
up the process enormously. In fact, Brad himself earned a fully accredited
degree in less than six months for a cost less than $5,000. The book includes
Brads explanation of how he achieved his goal as well as stories of
others who have completed accelerated degree programs. (You might notice
that home schoolers are well represented among these college graduates!)
This is a how-to manual that explains the very practical strategies Brad
recommends for gaining credit through testing, earning credit by creating
portfolios or through internships, taking online and correspondence courses,
and creating your own guided-study courses.
Chapters on speed reading, writing, and improving your memory highlight the
importance of those skills for those who want to accelerate their education.
Helpful planning worksheets in the appendices can be used to help students
determine how they might create their own accelerated distance program. The
catch is that students really do need to be self-motivated and self-directed
because they are truly in charge of their own education. Even if this path
to a college degree doesnt fit everyone, Brads presentation is
certain to inspire many students to follow his example.
